Being away from our pets for an afternoon can make us sad. Now, imagine being away months at a time. That’s a reality for military families worldwide. To celebrate our support for military families, and re-connect personnel separated from their pets, we are excited to launch the first-ever “Paws to Support Our Military Families” video contest.

Launched recently and continuing through Oct. 28, we are encouraging military pet families to submit a short video sharing their story about the long-distance relationship between their stationed military personnel and their pets. Friends can also submit videos about their favorite military pet families.

To enter “Paws to Support Our Military Families,” individuals are encouraged to create a 30- to 60-second video sharing the story of a stationed military personnel and the long-distance relationship with his/her pet and upload to YouTube. Next, participants nominate their pet family by registering at petchatz.com/veterans-day-2016/ and sharing the link to the video.

Throughout the contest, we will honor families by sharing select videos. On Nov. 11 (Veteran’s Day), we will select three entrants to receive a PetChatz HD Greet & Treat Videophone, valued at $379.

Whether for it’s a mom in a combat zone, an uncle on a carrier, or a son stationed at a base half the continent away, we want to hear about them – and honor them and their pets. Our military personnel sacrifice for us daily – for those with pets, let’s make each day a little more enjoyable. We look forward to sharing these stories.
